Racing Fast Lane in 2007
2007 for me (and Fast Lane) was a year for looking forward. I completed the sale to Will Garvey and Phil Scalese. I sailed on Fast Lane a few times, butit wasn't really the same. The women's crew had already switched over to sailing on "Bad Penny" with Winnie at the helm. I was there mostly in an advisory capacity. We had lots of going away parties.
The best, of course, was the "Sherry Beckett Regatta", instigated by Rochelle Yates. They put on a whole regatta in my honor. Phil and Will let me take Fast Lane with my old crew, one last time. We had a great time, but we sucked (came in 4th out of 4 L28's). Someone had to give me their 3rd place trophy so I had one.
