Thailand & Cambodia Travel Notes
January 2018

Books and Reference Material

Nomadic Matt's Guide to Thailand https://www.nomadicmatt.com/travel-guides/thailand-travel-tips/
Be sure to look for his $10 guidebook, totally worth it!

Money

Cambodia: If you stay for awhile, it would be useful to hit up an ATM and get local currency, but everyone in the Siem Reap area accepts US Dollars.

Language Schools

We didn't go to any.  English was widely spoken in tourist areas.  Google Translate is useful especially in Thailand--using phone camera you can translate the written Thai language (signs).

Cell Phones

We bought cell phone sims on arrival at the airport in both Cambodia and Thailand.  They are invaluable for communicating with locals and making reservations.
